Fatal Decision 2
Decisions are hard. I have to make decisions everyday. These decisions can affect the path I'll take for rest of my life. Do I eat cereal or do I eat eggs or do I just skip breakfast altogether and steal food from someone at work if I get hungry? Each choice has so many possible repercussions. What a mind trip!
This video is great because it's just like the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books I read when I was a kid, except without the reading. I wish I was at an age when I could appreciate that, but I likes them books now.
By the way, I made all the right decisions when I watched this the first time. Oh yeah, and Gloo did the VFX. I knew there was a reason why I was posting this.
Windows 7 Parody
Hey everybody!!!
In this College Humor parody, Microsoft takes everyone's ideas and puts every single one of them into making Windows 7. Gloo Studios is responsible for creating the result of their efforts at the end of the video.
Love, Luck, and Lollipops,
Jason
Speaking of great videos involving Microsoft, remember this one? This is from quite a few years ago. Steve has now become the big cheese over at Microsoft since Bill G. left. Gloo had nothing to do with this video, but it's still awesome and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
A Lot of Work for MSN
MSN is launching a new site very soon, and College Humor made 3 videos for Microsoft to introduce the features for them. The videos are genuine and not a parody of MSN. The videos feature Joel McHale from NBC's "Community", Julie Bowen from "Happy Gilmore" and Brian Baumgartner from "The Office". We were asked to make the screens for the video and the title slate at the end which we did happily.
The videos can be seen here on MSN's website:

Internet Distractions
Okay, it’s the middle of the night, you’ve got an assignment due the next day, so it’s time to just buckle down and do it, right? WRONG! The internet comes to life in another project we did for College Humor. Once again, Mike pretty much started from scratch and created every single element you see using Illustrator and then finished it off in AfterEffects.
I don’t really have any inside info on this one, other than that it’s on a Mac which is awesome! I love Macs. They’re just so easy to understand and use. Most of the file names make sense to me.
I realize a lot of PC users may disagree with my Mac beliefs. That’s fine. Bring the hate mail on. Or better yet, tweet me your hate! You can reach me on @gimmelopa. (That’s the thing about Twitter I haven’t quite grasped yet. I want to use “at @gimmelopa” but of course “@” stands for “at”. So, do I just say “You can reach me @gimmelopa”? Somebody let me know.)
Anyhoo, here’s “Internet Distractions” for your viewing pleasure.
Large Hadron Collider
It’s funny cause creating the Visual FX for this one actually required us to purchase our own Hadron Collider. Do you have any idea how much the shipping costs alone were?! Well, once we had it hooked up and Maya was properly installed, this video really became a breeze. Eyes blinking sideways... you don't really see that too often do you? And that makes creating something like that actually really difficult. To make the human body do something so unnatural you first have to take apart that part of the body (digitally of course!) and then rework a way that sideways blinking could feasibly happen, and then rebuild it all up from there. Interesting stuff, right? I just feel smarter having the Hadron Collider kicking around the office. The windows open and this pesky breeze keeps threatening to blow my papers all out of order. I need a paperweight or something. I'm going to go get me some dark matter.
